"surviving
you, always" review |
|
L.A.'s Saccharine Trust seem to thrive creatively on disaster and misery. They're the sort of band that would survive a nuclear holocaust and go right on playing amidst the desolation. Without and audience, but at least with plenty of new material to scream about. Survivng You, Always rips itself apart from within, with the urgency of early Black Flag relentlessly and for no apparent reason. Jack Brewer gargles and spits unintelligible words. Not referring to the lyric sheet, the songs are painfully penetrating flashes of alienation and lives frozen in nine to five traps that read well as free verse. I myself find this record too painful to listen to, but if you're searching for apocalyptic chaos personified -- then you've found it. -Polly Campbell
