"we became snakes " review
alternative rhythms (1986)

One more great album from Saccharine Trust.  "We Became Snakes" is certainly more  accessible to the people who found their last two records hard to comprehend.  Jack Brewer's beat lyrics have grown more perceptive and still each word of delivery writhes about you.  "Frankie On a Pony" is snazzy instrumental written by Joe Baiza and "The Need", with Paul Roessler on piano (D.C.3) giving you the mystic lounge feeling.  Oh so surreal.  "We Became Snakes", produced by Mike Watt (Minutemen, and bassist for ST's "Worldbroken" LP) is the most straight forward Saccharine Trust album to date.
